INTRODUCING ALLISON CUMMINGS

The Moonhorse Dance Theatre Board of Directors are thrilled to announce that Allison Cummings is the new Artistic Director of the company.

"I am absolutely honoured to accept the role of Artistic Director of Moonhorse Dance Theatre. I have followed and admired the growth of this company built under the beautiful and generous vision of Claudia Moore since its inception. Moonhorse Dance Theatre has represented to me over the years, a welcoming space for established and senior artists to take risks, uphold excellence, and present work that holds the nuance and insight that comes with age, expertise, and life experience. I am excited to continue the nurturing and support of those artists in the generation above mine, that through so many movements lay the foundation of what the dance community, in all its diversity, is today. I am also elated that I have been granted the opportunity to cross this bridge into senior artistry with my Gen-X peers. I look forward to fostering our voices as we continue to grow and create. I look forward to working with the artists that I have known and admired over the years and greatly anticipate getting to know those I have not yet crossed paths with. What a gift to be able to enter this role as our community comes back together after the past few years. I cannot wait to see everyone again."

MOonhORsE Dance Theatre acknowledges the sacred land where we work. The site of human activity for over 15,000 years, this land is the traditional territory, Tkaronto, "where the trees meet the water"; "the gathering place" of many nations: the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.  We are grateful to have the opportunity to live, work and dance on this land.
