WORKSHOPS with Older & Reckless artists HEIDI LATSKY & LESANDRA DODSON - November 6 & 10
Heidi Latsky and Lesandra Dodson
Heidi Latsky (NYC) will teach a class starting with her MARS Method: Mindful Activation Release Study, a practice designed to activate the body in a relaxed, meditative way. She will then move into teaching the improvisational structure for ON DISPLAY-her site specific meditative installation that disrupts the urban landscape with a mostly still human sculpture court featuring performers ranging in age, disability, race, and size. Participants in this workshop are invited to be part of ON DISPLAY TORONTO this coming December! Lesandra Dodson (Fredricton NB) will teach a workshop entitled Body Word Bank, which provides physical exploration through a series of movement exercises, text, improvisation and creative movement development. The workshop is designed to explore choreographic creation and movement invention. It will investigate different ways to use text to build and create movement sequences. There will be focus on breath, sound, and the effect it has upon movement invention.
