A dreamy Older & Reckless has come to an end. Though I'm sad it's over, my heart overflows with joy and gratitude to each and every beautiful being who took part- from the sublime artists to the terrific O&R administrative & production teams, to the courageous JOE amateurs and the JOE pros who returned to their boots once again. Get to know Robert Desrosiers

As we count down the last few days until opening night for Older & Reckless #39, we bring you the fifth artist in our series, Robert Desrosiers. Now in his 60's, Robert remains a brilliant dancer and a choreographer of startling imagination. Here Robert speaks about his most recent choreographic work I was commissioned to create a new, full-length work to be performed at the National Arts Centre as part of the 2016 Canada Dance Festival. I worked with graduating dancers from four nationally recognized contemporary dance training programs- L’École de danse de Québec (Québec), The School of Contemporary Dancers (Winnipeg), The School of Dance (Ottawa), and The School of Toronto Dance Theatre.

I'm thrilled to share news about our Older & Reckless community event, the JOE Project, a co-production with Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, presented in association with Harbourfront Centre, November 11 & 12 25 courageous amateurs will step onto the Harbourfront Centre Theatre stage, some for the first time, at Older & Reckless, to perform an excerpt of JOE, a contemporary classic, choreographed by GG winner Jean-Pierre Perreault (1947- 2002). The novice performers will be joined by 6 ex-JOE professionals- Julia Aplin, Marie-Josée Chartier, Bonnie Kim, Julia Sasso and Gerry Trentham, plus former Dancemaker Gary Tai- to recreate an exciting chapter in Canadian dance history!
